Happy Tuesday everyone, how is your week going so far?
Darker evenings and misty mornings with a grey, shadowed overcast – Winter is approaching! Soon, our mornings will greet us with frosty layers on the ground, sparkling under every angle of light. The spicy scent of gingerbread will diffuse our homes, whilst the adorned Christmas trees by our windows will catch the sight of every passer-by.
It’s been a strange year, for sure. Perhaps some of us are finding it difficult to feel the Christmas spirit because of all the restrictions and everything else that’s been happening. So, on a positive note, I thought I would share some festive activities which you can still do this Christmas from the comfort of your own home!
- DIY Christmas Decorations
Challenge your creativity and make some of your own Christmas decorations! I’m most definitely jumping on the dried orange garland hype this year – have you heard of it? Google it after reading this if you haven’t already, and make one of your own! Creating your own decorations is a great way to keep yourself busy at home, whilst immersing into the festive spirit (and you’ll be saving the environment!) - Make your own Christmas Cards
Spread love this Christmas by making your own Christmas cards ], and send them to you friends and family. Or, alternatively, shop small this Christmas and buy handmade cards from a local/small business – they need us during these times. - Decorate your home
Grab the Christmas décor out and do what makes you happy! Get the Christmas tree out and embellish it with decorations. Place a wreath on your front door and add fake snow. I’m trying my best to resist until the 1st December, however, I don’t think I’ll be able to wait much longer! - A Winter Walk
Grab your winter hats, chunky boots and go for a stroll! Treat yourself to a creamy hot chocolate with a loved one (or alone) and inhale the fresh winter air. On my winter walks, I love to look for pinecones, or any sort of plant which would look great as a decoration! - Christmas Movie Night
It’s time to switch off and relax! Climb into your favourite pyjamas, slip on some fluffy socks and light your candles. Grab a blanket with a hot drink and switch on your favourite Christmas film. - Christmas Baking with Music
Of course, it wouldn’t be Christmas without the festive baking! From gingerbread men to mince pies, fill your kitchen with festive spices and sweet treats. I love to listen to Christmas music whilst I bake – it helps me get into the spirit even more!
I hope these suggestions inspire you to indulge in some festive fun – we all deserve it after a tough year!
Have a lovely week, and thanks for reading. Don’t forget to subscribe to join the family!
Lots of love!
Love these suggestions! We’ve already baked sugar and chocolate chip cookies and we’ve already put up our christmas decor. we are so ready for Christmas and the holiday cheer. I’m hoping we get a blizzard this year and get snowed in (since we have to be inside our homes anyway)
