Hey everyone, how are you doing?! The weather here has been warming up slightly, and we’ve even seen some sun! Very unusual for January, but I’m not complaining!
Today I want to share with you a few places to go in London which are a bit alternative to the typical sight-seeing attractions. Although London is known for the stunning Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, the Tower of London and multiple other attractions, it’s sometimes nice to explore the other areas of London which aren’t as tourist-heavy. With my partner living in London for a year, I’ve had many opportunities to visit the beautiful, lively city, so I thought I would chat about a few of the places I have been to which I have loved. I hope you enjoy!
1) Milk Train
Just near Covent Garden, head over to the Milk Train. With deluxe soft ice cream, you are able to personalise your ice cream with different flavours and toppings. From sugary clouds of candyfloss to crunchy oreo cookies of heaven, you can create the most delicious sweet snack – and the ice cream is so delicate and creamy too!
2) Brickwood Café, Clapham
If you’re staying near Clapham and have a couple hours free, I’d definitely recommend visiting the Brickwood Café. It’s an Aussie inspired café serving coffee’s and brunch, with a wooden interior that creates a cosy atmosphere. When I went, I had warm, toasted banana bread served with some sweet butter and peppermint tea – it was delightful!
Filled with a creative energy and buzz, Shoreditch is known for its artsy history and restaurants. Plenty of colourful, unique artworks which plaster the walls outside – it’s a place that most definitely catches the eye! Shoreditch is also great for street food, restaurants and cafés, so be sure to stop by and have some food when you’re there.
So, there are a few places I would recommend when visiting London (that aren’t the usual attractions). I absolutely love London – it’s such a great city packed with vibrance and history.
I know this blog post has been a little different than usual, but I hope you enjoyed it!
